Tanya’s Outburst Cracks Up Plane

My wife Tanya and I were flying to Sydney In pretty turbulent conditions and were seated near the rear of the aircraft . As the plane was approaching the landing, the flight crew announced they were experiencing some rough weather conditions and to prepare for landing , the seat belt light was illuminated and the plane started to rock, then violently shake. The plane surged and also dropped altitude without warning, intensifying the heart rates of all on board. The tension could be felt right through the plane as the passengers were silent, and we could hear each other breathing. It was the first time I had ever thought about assuming the crash position, but resisted as I kept telling myself ” it is gonna be ok” . I could only imagine the internal dialogue of all the other passengers “we are gonna make this, we are gonna make this”….” Please God let me live”…’I am never flying again”….it was all happening!.

The stunned passengers let out small gasps as the turbulence kicked in at erratic times. This flight now had our attention as we tried to remember the safety instructions we ignored at the start of the flight. I counted the rows to the exit seats- and actually had a quick feel under the seat to see where that life jacket was. The silence was deafening at this stage as the stunned passengers gripped their armrests in preparation for the hard landing.

The landing gear was down( check), seat belt was tightened, and all focus was on the landing. The oohs and ahhhs around the plane continued with each violent jolt, we were almost down, but we were all thinking…will we survive the crash? The plane bounced lightly off the runway in the first instance, we all held our breath. We then thumped down on the Tarmac with an almighty jolt rocking the plane….as we all gasped silently…a lone female voice yelled at the top of her voice from next to me….”JE-SUS CHRRRIIIST” The shocked passengers broke out into laughter across the entire plane as Tanya had just let out what we were all thinking, in that split second of silent horror…..most of us were delirious that we had survived, but all will never forget the woman with the potty mouth in row 34C.
